If a recently enrolled student is already on the roll call, or if a previously enrolled student has just got on the roll call, their Military Duty Procedures will be carried out on YÖKSİS by the Military Recruitment Offices.
The Appendix-C2 document will not be sent to the Military Recruitment Office. If the student makes a request, the Appendix-C2 document will be prepared by the Student Affairs Directorate.
Any student whose GPA is lower than 2.00 is on probation. They do not have the right to take additional credit. The on-probation students who are in their 3rd or 4th semester in their Associate degree program, or 7th or 8th semester in their Bachelor’s degree program, are given additional credits (8 ECTS) excluding the internship credit.
Any student whose GPA is equal to or higher than 2.00 is successful. They are allowed to take additional credits (16 ECTS) starting from the 3rd and 4th semesters (excluding the internship credit).
The students who are on their 1st and 2nd semesters may only take NDY. They cannot drop or withdraw these courses or take additional credits.
The students who are on probation and on the last two semesters of their program (3rd and 4th semesters for an Associate degree, or 7th and 8th semesters for a Bachelor’s degree) may take additional credits (8 ECTS), excluding the internship credits.
The students who have scored lower than a C in a course at the end of the semester (except for the ones who have already met the requirements to graduate) may take the make-up exam. The higher grade will be used as their final grade for the course.
The students may submit a maximum of three applications each to the Double Major and Minor programs (3 Double Major, 3 Minor)
The students need to have successfully completed all the courses in their first diploma program, except for the internship, by their application in order be able to apply for double major and minor programs.
- The students who have a minimum GPA of 70 out of 100 (2.72 out of 4.00) may apply for Double Major Programs.
- The student may apply for the second major program on their 3rd semester at the earliest and the 5th semester at the latest.
It is the sum of the ECTS credits of the courses in a student’s curriculum for each semester (semester credits).
The students are allowed to take as much credit as their Regular Course Load (NDY) allows (even though they have the right for additional credit) from their previous, current or following semesters with the approval of their academic counsellor.
Except for the students who are in their last two semesters (3rd and 4th semesters for Associate degree programs and 7th and 8th semesters for Bachelor’s degree programs), the minimum credits that students are allowed to take is 17 ECTS. Rules may vary for additional credit rights.
Students who lose their diploma have to place an ad in a national newspaper. In this ad, the complete name of the document, where it was obtained, and the student’s date of graduation need to be stated, along with a disclaimer stating that the lost diploma is invalid. The student has to apply to the Directorate of Student Affairs with a petition in addition to the newspaper in which the ads have been placed. After the printing and signature procedures are completed, the student may obtain their new diploma from ÖİDB.

The students who meet the conditions to graduate may complete their exmatriculation procedures by applying to the Directorate of Student Affairs with their student ID. Students receive a temporary graduation certificate until their diploma is ready. This is a one-time document and it has to be exchanged with the diploma once it’s ready.
Successful students are given the right to additional credit of 16 ECTS starting from their 3rd and 4th semesters (excluding internship credits).
Students on probation may take additional credits of up to 8 ECTS during the 3rd and 4th semesters of their Associate degree programs or 7th and 8th semesters of their Bachelor’s degree programs (excluding internship credits)

In order for students who are exmatriculated, disenrolled, expelled or have graduated to retrieve their diplomas and documents in their file, they need to have paid their tuition and other fees and completed the exmatriculation procedures with the approval of the relevant units of the university. The student must apply to ÖİDB with a petition in order to begin their exmatriculation procedures either in person or through someone who has their permission. The students who are exmatriculated lose all of their rights as a student.
- In order to freeze registration, the students need to have completed the registration procedures for the semester and paid their tuition.
- Students who have completed their re-registration procedures must apply to the Directorate of Student Affairs within the period announced on the academic calendar with a petition and their student ID card.
- Students may be able to freeze registration for one or two semesters with the decision of the board of the academic unit that they are part of according to their reason for freezing. The students who wish to freeze registration for health problems must submit a health report along with their petition.
- The students may freeze registration for two semesters in a row and four semesters in total.
The students who have frozen their registration are able to re-register at the end of the period and continue their studies. The students may apply to the Directorate of Student Affairs if they wish to unfreeze their registration before the end of this period.
In case there’s a change in name, surname, or other information (Mother’s name, Father’s name, Place of Birth, Date of Birth, Marital Status etc.), the student should apply to the Student Affairs Directorate along with their new ID card and the court decree, if one exists.
- The exemption requests are carried out within 20 business days after the first registration of the Dean’s office/Directorate with a petition along with an approved Transcript and course content. This can be carried out only one (1) time.
- The exemption requests are evaluated by the relevant department or program within five business days and a decision is made. The orientation of the student is carried out by deciding the final grade (in accordance with the grade conversion rules of the Senate). The result is submitted to the Directorate of Student Affairs by the relevant dean’s office or directorate. Then, the Directorate of Student Affairs upgrades the results on the ÖBYS and students are notified via e-mail.
- The student has a right to appeal the decision within five business days after the decision is updated on ÖBYS.
- The student’s period of education in other higher education institutions is subtracted from the maximum education period of the student stated in the law numbered 2547.
Students must apply to the Directorate of Student Affairs in case of a lost or stolen student ID. In this case, students receive a new student ID for a price that has been determined by the Istanbul Kültür University Board of Overseers.

Your highest grade at the end of the semester will be your final grade.
What is the maximum number of ECTS/credits a student can take during Summer School? How will the grades be evaluated?
During Summer School, a student can take a max. of 30 ECTS credits, or 20 national credits if the student follows the national credit system. The grading during Summer School will be the same as the Fall or Spring Terms..
- Students may apply to the minor program in their third semester at the earliest and their sixth semester at the latest.
- Students need a GPA of 65 out of 100 (2.50 out of 4.00) in order to be able to apply for the minor program.
Semesters are calculated according to the table below, taking into account the total ECTS credits of the courses that the student passed (The grades A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+, C, C-, D+, D, D- and Y):

There aren’t make-up exams for the Final and Resit exams. However, make-up exams might be carried out for students whose reports during the midterm period were accepted.
A SPA is calculated by multiplying the coefficients of the student’s grades in one semester with the ECTS values of each course, adding them together, and then dividing the total result (except for the courses with the grades P, E, V, Y, Z and the exempted courses) by the sum of the total ECTS values for the same courses.
A GPA is calculated by multiplying the coefficients of the student’s grades throughout their entire education with the ECTS values of each course, adding them together, and then dividing the total result (except for the courses with the grades P, E, V, Y, Z and the exempted courses) by the sum of the total ECTS values for the same courses. SPA and GPA have two decimal points.
