Personal Data Protection

According to the Personal Data Protection Act, it’s not appropriate to share the personal data of the students with third parties without the student’s approval, in order to preserve the fundamental rights and freedoms of the people, especially the right of privacy, while processing personal data.

The students may request a “Student Certificate” on the “Student Management Information System” (ÖBYS)

The Student Certificate can be obtained from the Directorate of Student Affairs office on campus within the same day. The students need to have their student ID cards on their person while receiving the certificate.

The students that are not registered in the current academic semester are not allowed to obtain a student certificate. However, in line with their request, they may be able to receive an official document stating their educational status if they fill in the STUDENT STATUS DOCUMENT FORM and send it as a fax or an e-mail to the address  ogrenci.isleri@iku.edu.tr.

The Student Certificate may also be obtained free of charge on the “e-state” system. In order to obtain a student certificate on the e-state system, the student needs an e-state password. One may acquire the e-state password by applying in person to the PTT directorates with their national ID card.

You may access the system on the webpage “https://www.turkiye.gov.tr/yok-ogrenci-belgesi-sorgulama with the e-state password.

The Student Certificate that has been obtained on the e-state system has an electronic signature and is valid for all official institutions. The institutions can query and verify the document with the barcode number that can be found on the certificate.

Our registered students may request a “Transcript” on the “Student Information Management System” (ÖBYS).

The transcript can be obtained from the Directorate of Student Affairs office on campus within the same day. The students need to have their student ID cards on their person while receiving the document.

 In line with their request, the students who have graduated or disenrolled may be able to receive an official document stating their educational status if they fill in the TRANSCRIPT APPLICATION FORM and send it as a fax or an e-mail to the address  ogrenci.isleri@iku.edu.tr.

The military procedures are carried out on the Ministry of Defense website http://www.asal.msb.gov.tr in accordance with the Military Law numbered 1111.

The military procedures of the recently registered university students who are eligible for military services or the students who have previously registered but have recently become eligible are going to be carried out via YÖKSİS by the Military Entrance Processing Command.

The EK-C2 (Education Status Document) is not sent to the Military Entrance Processing Command. If the student submits a request on the “Student Information Management System” (ÖBYS), the Directorate of Student Affairs will prepare the EK-C2 (Education Status Document) and give it to the student.

The military duties of the male students over 29 cannot be postponed. However, these students aren’t prevented from registering.

The military duties of special students cannot be postponed.

The Military Entrance Processing Commands are notified by our university with the educational status document within two months regarding the graduation, voluntary disenrollment, registration freeze, etc., of the students.

The disciplinary actions and procedures of students are carried out in accordance with the Student Discipline Regulations in Higher Education Institutions published in the Official Gazette dated 18/08/2012 and numbered 28388. Students may request a document regarding their disciplinary status on the “Student Management Information System” (ÖBYS)

The Disciplinary Action Document can be obtained from the Directorate of Student Affairs office on campus within the same day. The students need to have their student ID cards on their person while receiving the document.

After the final registration, our students receive a student ID card with a photograph from the Directorate of Student Affairs, proving that they are enrolled in our university.

In case the student ID card is lost, stolen, etc., the student must apply to the Directorate of Student Affairs with a petition and a newspaper ad, or an official report obtained from the Provincial Directorate of Security stating that the card was lost/stolen in order to obtain a new card. In this case, the student is given a new student ID card for a fee determined by the Board of Overseers. 

Passport without fees

Students under 25 years old are exempt from passport fees, according to the Article 85 Sub-clause h of the Act of Fees numbered 492. In order to get a passport without paying any fees, the students may apply to the Turkish National Police with their student certificate obtained from the Directorate of Student Affairs.

The student certificates with a written or an electronic signature, as well as the ones obtained from the e-state system, are valid at the Turkish National Police provided that they have been obtained in the last 60 days.
